Our History

A three-generation journey through craftsmanship, innovation, and dedication.

The story of Yejie Underwear began before its official founding in 1993. In 1984, our founder's family operated a towel factory, building the textile manufacturing experience that later became the foundation of Yejie Underwear. Due to our grandfather's illness, the towel business was sold — but the family's passion for textiles never stopped. In 1993, our family started again from a 1m x 1m stall in the old Huangyuan Market of Yiwu, selling seasonal textile goods – underwear in spring and summer, scarves and gloves in autumn and winter. During those early years, we focused mainly on domestic trade. By 1996, our shop moved to Shichang Road, where we began to specialize in custom-made export products. At that time, China's yarn technology was still developing – only 45-count yarn was available – so our first export product was large-size women's underwear. When 32-count yarn became available in 1997, our product range expanded quickly. In 2001, we moved to Guilin Street, known as Yiwu's 'Underwear Street.' There, we began producing women's thongs, children's bread-style briefs (a full-coverage kids' underwear style), and men's boxer briefs. The pattern for the first knitted men's boxer brief in China was developed by my father. Before that, only triangle briefs existed in the Chinese market. He spent two years perfecting the pattern, inspired by a woven fabric sample from Russia. Since woven fabric lacked elasticity and early shaping techniques caused curling, he redesigned it using knitted fabric – and that innovation changed everything. The new boxer brief pattern quickly became a sensation in Russia and Ukraine, and the Yejie brand became widely recognized across markets. At one point, over 80% of underwear factories in Guangdong were producing that style – now a foundation of China's men's underwear industry. In 2008, after the Yiwu International Trade City was completed, we moved into the new market and expanded further. We opened our seamless underwear factory in Yiwu while maintaining our production base in Guangdong, focusing on both domestic and export OEM/ODM business. Today, Yejie remains active in the global underwear market – a brand built on three generations of dedication, innovation, and craftsmanship.
